May 24, 2023 – The Ang Banwahanon Awards committee announces this year’s “Ang Banwahanon Awards”, which will be conducted on June 18 in celebration of the Bacolod Charter Anniversary.
Ang Banwahanon Awards will be one of the events of the “Mga Adlaw sang Paghanduraw” which will commence on June 12-20, 2023.
City Ordinance No. 494, series of 2009, proposed by former Councilor Homer Bais, stating that the “ANG BANWAHANON AWARD” was first conferred in 1974 during the incumbency of MAYOR CARLOS P. BENARES as a special feature of the City’s Charter celebration;
The award is known as the highest award given by the city to the Bacolodnons whose life or service has had a considerable impact on the people and community in the City of Bacolod;
Criteria for the nomination of Ang Banwahanon Awards must have; Considerable impact for services rendered to the residents of the city or the community which have immensely contributed to the economic, cultural, sports, social, moral, or educational development of the city.
That the exemplary and selfless service achievements of the nominee shall serve as an inspiration and a model worthy of emulation by the residents of the City of Bacolod in particular and the country in general.
Nominees must be; a Filipino citizen and of good moral character, of known probity and integrity, actual resident of Bacolod City for at least 10 years, must come from the private sector, Was not a recipient or awardee of “Ang Banwahanon Award, and he or she must be willing to be of service to the community or city when called upon.
Nomination Form is available at the Secretariat, Executive Assistants Office, 3rd Floor New Government Center, Bacolod City. Please look for Mr. Rodel T.Parcon, CPA, MBA.
Furthermore, if the nominator is an organization, an attachment of a Board Resolution stating to the effect that the organization is endorsing the nomination of the nominee, deadline for the submission of the Nomination Form is on May 31, 2023.
