On his third day in office, Mayor Greg Gasataya personally checked the drainage situation in Barangays 2, 6, and 12 today to see for himself the cause of flooding and take immediate action.
In Barangay 12, the existing drainage lines are clogged with sand, gravel, and basura, while the Mambuloc Creek in Barangays 2 and 6 is blocked with trash, slowing water flow and raising flood risks when it rains.
Clearing and dredging Mambuloc Creek will help:
Improve water flow and prevent water backing up into streets and homes
Reduce flooding in low-lying barangays and main roads
Prevent damage to homes, businesses, and traffic disruptions
Demonstrate the administration’s resolve on immediate, doable solutions for flood mitigation.
Mayor Greg has ordered the City Engineer’s Office to start clearing and dredging operations ASAP to clear these waterways and protect our communities from flooding.
“This is part of our thrust to fast-track actions that we can address immediately. We want to show that we mean business in this administration when it comes to delivering basic services to our people,” Mayor Gasataya said.
