In a concerted effort to guarantee the safety and success of MassKara Festival 2023, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has undertaken a significant augmentation of its police force. This move is aimed at reinforcing security measures during the festival’s culminating week, which marks the highlight of the MassKara celebration.
BCPO has augmented its strength with 1,013 additional policemen, comprising 447 officers from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) and 566 officers from Panay Island.
The decision to bolster the police presence is rooted in the commitment to ensure the safety and security of everyone participating in or attending the festival.
MassKara has grown to attract thousands of spectators and participants, creating the need for heightened security measures to prevent untoward incidents and to ensure a peaceful and orderly celebration.
While the primary focus of this augmented security force is to maintain order and provide assistance, it is also essential for festival-goers to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement authorities. In the event of an emergency or suspicious activity, festival attendees are encouraged to report such incidents promptly.
