February 20, 2025 – The City of Bacolod’s Gender and Development Council (GAD), Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC), and the Local Council Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAW) held their joint first quarter meeting today at the Middletown Inn, Bacolod City.

Presided by Councilor and GAD Vice-Chairperson Celia Flor, the meeting was attended by numerous organizations and government departments such as the DSSD, CPDO, UBSD, BCPO, Virlanie Faith, and Public Attorney’s Office, among many others.

Various agenda were discussed, including the Child-Friendly Local Government Audit (CFLGA), GAD Accomplishment Report 2024, and the National Women’s Month 2025 Celebration.

During the meeting, it was shared that Bacolod City was among the audit passers in the CFLGA 2024 with a national score of 90.86%, officially considering the city as a child-friendly city.

Additionally, a proposed resolution featuring the establishment of the Bacolod City Breastfeeding/Lactation Room was presented to the GAD Council as part of the National Women’s Month 2025 celebration and will be included in the Sangguniang Panlungsod session.

The National Women’s Month is celebrated every March and this year’s theme is, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas.”
