December 4, 2024 – Mayor Albee Benitez attended the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the 145 MW Bacolod Solar Power Plant Project today at Brgy. Felisa, Bacolod City.
Together with Mayor Albee Benitez were Councilors Thaddy Sayson, Em Ang, Al Espino, Vladi Gonzalez, and Kalaw Puentevella.
During his opening message, Mayor Benitez shared the city’s warm welcome and support to the use of renewable energy through the electric jeepneys that now ply the streets of Bacolod. He also added that the city is open to collaborating and getting power from renewable sources of energy.
The 145 MW Bacolod Solar Power Plant Project is owned by the Negros PH Solar, Inc. of the Nexif Ratch Energy with an allotted area of 97 hectares and 235,816 photovoltaic modules. This project will be generating 218,000 megawatt-hours of renewable energy.
