October 11, 2024 – In celebration of the 45th MassKara Festival, the City of Bacolod held a grand countdown salubong at the Bacolod City Government Center.

Together with Mayor Albee Benitez were Cong. Greg Gasataya, City Tourism Head Teresa Manalili, Councilors Thaddy Sayson, Israel Salanga, Cindy Rojas, Em Ang, Vladimir Gonzalez, Jason Villarosa, Kalaw Puentevella, Simple Distrito, and Celia Flor, Liga ng mga Barangay President Lady Gles Pallen, Victorias City Mayor Javi Benitez, and an estimated number of 45,000 individuals.

The Bacolod Yuhum Foundation Officials were also present such as Bacolod MassKara Festival Chairman Jojie Dingcong, President and Festival Director for Finance, Admin, Concerts, Events, and Fair Kuster Y. Cadagat; Secretary and Festival Director for Cultural and Accredited Events Jericho Redil; and Treasurer, and Festival Director for Good Governance, Finance, Procurement, and Admin Food Committee Chairperson Ana Tison.

The celebration started with a motorcade, followed by a sponsors presentation. It featured various dance and band performances coming from Yuya Band and December Avenue and the presentation of Miss Bacolod MassKara candidates.

Finally, a fireworks display was done after the official declaration of the MassKara Festival 2024 opening.
