September 21, 2024 – Led by the Bacolod Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO), the City of Bacolod joined the International Coastal Clean-Up with the theme, “#SeaTheChange” today at Purok Alalahoy, Brgy. Banago.
Numerous organizations participated in the event such as La Salle Bacolod, Boy Scouts of the Philippines Bacolod City Council, and Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation, Inc. (NWTF), among many others.
The International Coastal Clean-Up Day is an annual event celebrated on the third Saturday of September that aims in addressing issues on marine pollution, gathering and mobilizing volunteers to clean and preserve coastal areas, and to raise awareness on reducing plastic waste.
