May 28, 2024- The City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) convened for its second quarter regular meeting at Nature’s Village Resort, chaired by Mayor Albee Benitez. In attendance were DILG Bacolod OIC Director Christian Nagaynay, Councilor Pao Sy, and representatives from various member agencies including the Philippine Army, DENR, PCG, PDEA, BJMP, DPWH, NBI, HPG, Bacolod City Police Office, Traffic Authority, City Legal Office, City Prosecutor’s Office, Board of Investments, DRRMO, DEPED, NAPOLCOM, and other government officials.

The meeting’s agenda featured a comprehensive Peace and Order Situationer Report for the second quarter of 2024, presented by City Directo PCOL Noel Aliño. This report provided a detailed overview of the current peace and order status within the city, highlighting key developments and challenges.

Additionally, the POC Secretariat presented the POC Audit 2023 issues, gaps, and recommendations. To further enhance the council’s effectiveness, the POC Secretariat proposed a capability-building initiative for POC members concerning POPS-PCMS and the POC Audit.

A significant resolution approved during the meeting was the release of the confidential fund for the second quarter of 2024. This fund is essential for supporting the council’s various initiatives aimed at maintaining peace and order in the city. The Philippine Army also put forward a resolution declaring a Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS) in the City of Bacolod and its barangays.

Through active participation and collaboration, the CPOC remains committed to its role as a partner in development with the Local Government Unit, National Government Agencies, and local counterparts. The council’s support for the Bacolod City Peace and Order Council’s (BPOC) programs and activities is crucial in ensuring a safe and orderly environment for all citizens.
