BACOLOD CITY — The Bacolod City Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) has started the distribution of ₱6,236,000 in medical, burial, and financial assistance to 1,585 beneficiaries under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program, Monday, July 13, 2026.

Upon the directive of Mayor Greg Gasataya, 939 beneficiaries received cash assistance amounting to a total of ₱3,623,500, during the first payout held at the Bacolod City Government Center Lobby.

Among the beneficiaries was Manuel Libo-on of Barangay Granada, who received his medical assistance. Libo-on, who is battling benign prostatic hyperplasia, is also a recipient of the government’s social pension program and the 10-kilo rice assistance being facilitated by the city.

“It’s a good thing we have this assistance. I’d like to thank you, Mayor, for prioritizing us,” Libo-on said, expressing his gratitude.

The financial assistance aims to help individuals and families cope with medical expenses, burial costs, and other urgent needs during times of crisis.

The payout will continue until July 14, 2026. On the second day, the city will serve the remaining 646 beneficiaries, with a total allocation of ₱2,612,500.

The continuing implementation of the AICS program reflects the City Government of Bacolod’s commitment to providing timely, compassionate, and responsive assistance to residents facing difficult circumstances.
