Mayor Greg Gasataya assures businessmen in the Visayas that the local government is fully committed to protecting all investments made in the city.

Speaking before business leaders, delegates, and officials from across the Visayas during the opening of the 35th Visayas Area Business Conference (VABC) at L’Fisher Hotel last Thursday, May 14, the Mayor emphasized that creating a safe and supportive environment for enterprises remains a key priority of his administration.

“We know that when you choose to invest, you are committing billions of pesos. And for us in Bacolod, we assure you that we will protect whatever you invest in your business in Bacolod City.

I will give you my word, I will protect,” Mayor Gasataya stressed. Consistent with his previous pronouncements, the Mayor reiterated that Bacolod continues to uphold policies designed to give confidence to investors and ensure that businesses can operate securely and grow in the city.

To back this commitment, Mayor Gasataya presented “Bacolod in Action,” showcasing the city as a resilient, sustainable, and business-ready destination.

He highlighted prime areas open for development, including the city-owned 75-hectare property and the valuable 5-hectare lot at the old airport in Barangay Singcang-Airport — strategic locations ready for new projects and expansion.

He also welcomed all participants to the three-day gathering, noting that hosting the VABC is another proof of Bacolod’s capacity and readiness as a major economic hub in the region.

He added that the city continues to work on improving both the business climate and tourism sector for the benefit of all residents.

The conference gathered key figures from government and the private sector, including Senator Risa Hontiveros, PCCI President Ferdinand ‘Perry’ Ferrer, Governor Eugenio Jose ‘Bong’ Lacson, Governor Chaco Sagarbarria, Mayor Benjie Miranda, PCCI Vice President Atty. Jobert Peñaflorida, MBCCI President Atty. Juliana Carbon, Regional Governors Roberto Montelibano and Felix Taguiam, and Iloilo PCCI President Fulbert Woo, among others.

With this clear assurance, Bacolod City reinforces its reputation as a place where investments are not just welcomed, but fully protected and supported by the local government. (Bacolod City Communications Office)
