The creative industry in Bacolod City has found a new home in Barangay Mansilingan as Mayor Greg Gasataya led the opening of G-Hive, a hub for graphic artists, designers, animators, game developers, fashion designers, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) at the Mansilingan Activity Center (MAC) on June 29, 2026.

The G-Hive features a Foundry, which multimedia artists may use free of charge; a Studio for filmmakers and videographers; an Academy that provides specialized training for MSMEs, including dressmakers; and a Gallery that showcases high-value MSME products, artworks, and other creative innovations.

“Finding a space was a bit of a challenge until the barangay approved our request without any second thought,” Gasataya noted as he expressed gratitude to Mansilingan Punong Barangay Franz Hughanne Tionko and the barangay council.

“We thank everyone who worked tirelessly to turn this vision into reality. We also thank our private sector partners for sharing their expertise with those who aspire to venture into the creative industry,” Gasataya added.

Jinky Besa of Seven Seas Entertainment said that G-Hive is more than just a facility – it is a sanctuary and center of inspiration for members of the creative industry. “It is a long-awaited space where creatives can nurture their talents, pursue innovation, and turn their aspirations into reality,” Besa said.

“G-HIVE is not just a building; it’s a creative ecosystem, and for an industry that has operated for so long on passion alone, having systemic support changes everything.

It means the next generation of Bacoleño creatives gets to dream bigger because the infrastructure is finally there to catch them,” she added.

Besa is currently serving as Assistant Production Manager at Seven Seas Entertainment, connecting local talent to a globally recognized manga and graphic novel publishing house.

Mae Llamas, head of D-LEDIP, emphasized how G-Hive can bridge the gap between local talents with technology and the future through the core facilities.

“We provide a progressive ecosystem designed to transition our local economy into a high-value creative and technological nucleus.
