September 19, 2024- On the second day of the Philippine Commercial Vehicle Show, the “Visayas Public Transport Modernization Program Forum and Fleet Management Academy” was held today at L’Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City together with fleet managers, motorpool officers, transport cooperatives, corporate representatives, and other transport professionals.
The event commenced with welcome remarks from LTFRB Regional 6 Chief Legal Officer Atty. Salvador Altura, and LTFRB Region 8 Regional Director Gualberto N. Gualberto. This was followed by a keynote message from AGRI PARTY-LIST Representative, Congressman Wilbert Lee.
During the forum, the LTFRB regional officials provided updates on the modernization programs within their respective regions, focusing on the Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP). The updates covered route networks, transport modes, and operational modern units. Speakers included Atty. Salvador Altura from LTFRB Region 6, Eduardo C. Montealto, Jr., Regional Director for LTFRB Region 7, and Gualberto N. Gualberto from LTFRB Region 8. Additionally, Mr. Joel Bolano, Chief of the Technical Division at the LTFRB Central Office, shared updates from the central office.
Key participants included LTFRB Central Office Executive Director Atty. Robert D. Peig, NCR Regional Director Atty. Zona Russet M. Tamayo, Region 4-A Regional Director Loumer P. Bernabe, Region XI Regional Director Nonito A. Llanos III, and Region XII Regional Director Paterno Reynato Padua.
The event featured presentations on various topics, including Finance 101: Understanding the Basics of Finance by Asia Link Finance Corporation, Safe & Efficient Tire Technology by Royal Tires, Efficient Fleet Management with Technology by Fastpoint Enterprises, Inc., and Challenges and Risks of Logistics in the Philippines by Fast Logistics.
Numerous exhibitors, such as Forland, Toyota, JMC, Fast Logistics, Durabuilt Motors, e-Future, 2GO, Asialink Finance Corp., and Alpha Insurance showcased their products and solutions, providing attendees with insights into the latest innovations aimed at improving efficiency, sustainability, and safety in transport and logistics.
