October 28, 2024- The City Population Office, in collaboration with its partners, recently held the “Young Mothers Congress” at the Bacolod City College (BCC) gymnasium on the Barangay Taculing campus.
The event brought together 100 young mothers from 10 barangays across Bacolod City.
During the congress, the City Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office (CCLDO) conducted a demonstration on making dishwashing soap and distributed starter kits for those interested in starting a dishwashing soap business. The ABC of Liga ng mga Barangay, led by Councilor Lady Gless Pallen, offered free haircuts for the young mothers, while the Local Civil Registrar (LCR) assisted those whose children were not yet registered.
Councilors Celia Flor and Kalaw Puentevella provided free servings of arroz caldo and lomi. Additionally, the City Health Office offered free consultations, and the Urban Basic Services Division, led by Ms. Lora Mae in partnership with City Health Personnel, conducted a seminar for the young mothers.
The “Young Mothers Congress” showcased the City of Bacolod’s commitment to supporting young mothers through practical skills training, essential services, and community-building activities, empowering them to improve their families’ well-being and build a brighter future.
