January 9, 2025 – The Bacolod City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (BCDRRMC) called for a special meeting to enhance the city’s preparedness measures against the threat posed by the Kanlaon Volcano.

Presided by Councilor Pao Sy, together with Dr. Anna Maria Laarni Pornan, and Kanlaon Task Force Jemaimah Isubal, among many others.

The meeting covered the current status of the volcano, resource allocation, and ensuring the availability of food and non-food items. A resolution was also passed to establish the Food Security Task Force to help address food supply challenges.
