November 28, 2024 – The Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) came alive with joy and gratitude as the city celebrated World Thanksgiving Day, a time to reflect on and give thanks for the blessings received throughout the year.
The program commenced with an opening song performed by Coro Bacoleno, followed by a prayer led by Pastor Dave. A warm message was delivered by Lea Carmela Bantug-Zayco, Executive Assistant IV, setting the tone for an afternoon of thanksgiving and reflection.
The Scripture Reading was shared by Rodel Parcon, Executive Assistant and A special Thanksgiving Prayer was offered by religious leaders from different faiths:
– Rev. Fr. Norbert Ma. Canada, MMH, of the Marion Missionary of the Holy Cross
– Rev. Dr. Dave King, Lead Pastor of Trinity Christian Fellowship
– Pres. Malkit Singh, President of Punjabi Khalsa Diwan
– Pastor Jophone Galanza, President of the Negros Occidental Conference
– Imam Yacob M. Abdullah, representing the Islamic Center
A message was given by Mae Cuaycong, assistant to the Mayor and BacCHP Focal person reminding everyone of the importance of gratitude in fostering a harmonious society.
The celebration concluded with a closing song by Coro Bacoleno and a Thanksgiving Offering, which symbolized the collective appreciation of the city’s achievements and aspirations.
