Each of the 1,500 registered solo parents received ₱6,000, covering the period from July to December 2025. The initiative is a locally funded program of the Bacolod City Government, separate from national assistance provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). To ensure orderly processing, the Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) split the 1,500 beneficiaries into two batches of 750 each. The first group claimed their subsidies on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Villamonte Gym, with the remaining recipients receiving assistance on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. All payout activities were managed and coordinated by the DSSD team, which served as the implementing agency for the program. This latest payout follows the first distribution of 2025, which took place in October and covered January to June of that year. The two-semester schedule is designed to deliver consistent support to solo-headed households in the city. City Mayor Greg Gasataya said that the program reflects the local government’s dedication to addressing the needs of vulnerable families. “These subsidies are an important part of our efforts to ensure all Bacolodnons have access to support when they need it,” said Mayor Gasataya. While this distribution is now complete, the timeline for the 2026 coverage is still pending. The DSSD is currently working on processing requirements for next year’s assistance, with further updates to be announced once finalized. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude and emphasized responsible financial management. Allen Barrientos, 53, a tricycle driver and father of two, expressed gratitude after receiving his subsidy on the second day of distribution. He said the financial assistance would help cover his children’s needs and fund repairs for his tricycle unit. “My message to my fellow solo parents is to always take the best possible care of our children and give them all the love they deserve. Regarding this assistance, I remind everyone to spend it wisely and allot it only for useful things and our family’s daily necessities,” he said. The Bacolod City Government reaffirms its commitment to prioritizing the welfare of vulnerable sectors through locally-driven social services that provide both immediate relief and long-term support to Bacolodnon families.
