
February 24, 2025- Bacolod City officially launched its National Arts Month 2025 celebration with the theme “Ani ng Sining: Diwa at Damdamin (Paghugpong sang Bacolod pinaagi sa Taliambog)”. Organized by the Bacolod City Tourism Office, the event commenced with an opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony at Ayala Malls Capitol Central.
Chief Tourism Operations Officer Ma. Teresa Manalili welcomed attendees with opening remarks, acknowledging the presence of city officials, department heads, and distinguished guests. This was followed by an inspirational message from Councilor Em Ang, Chairperson of the SP Committee on History, Culture, and Arts, and a message of support from Councilor Jason Villarosa, Chairperson of the SP Committee on Tourism, emphasizing the city’s dedication to promoting local arts and culture.
The event features an arts exhibit showcasing various forms of artistic expression, including painting, sculpture, architecture, photography, and the evolution of Filipiniana fashion. A merchandising display highlights arts and crafts, while a special mask painting session offers art therapy for attendees.
This vibrant celebration of National Arts Month will run until February 28, with a series of activities planned throughout the duration. Seventeen local exhibitors are participating, presenting a diverse array of creative works and products.
Among those present at the event were CPDO Head Ms. Jean Ramos, Bacolod City Tourism staff, and key tourism stakeholders, including representatives from Negros Island travel agencies, tour associations, the National Association of Independent Travel Agencies, and the Network of Independent Travel Agencies.
This event highlights Bacolod City’s dedication to supporting local arts and culture by uniting artists, artisans, and cultural advocates in a lively celebration.
