Today, September 6, 2024, Bacolod City undergoes its National Validation Assessment for the prestigious 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) at the Bacolod City Government Center Lobby.
This esteemed award, presented by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), honors Local Government Units (LGUs) that exhibit excellence in governance.
Leading the national validation team are Pablio L. Benitez, Jr., PhD, CESO V, Provincial Director of DILG Misamis Occidental, and Alexander Miego, LGOO VI/Cluster Head. They are evaluating Bacolod City’s performance across multiple governance areas under the SGLG’s “All-in” principle. This principle mandates that LGUs must excel in every governance area to qualify.
The key areas of assessment include:
– Financial Administration and Sustainability
– Disaster Preparedness
– Social Protection and Sensitivity
– Health Compliance and Responsiveness
– Sustainable Education
– Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness
– Safety, Peace, and Order
– Environmental Management
– Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture, and Arts
– Youth Development
Bacolod City’s LGU is currently undergoing interviews and assessments across all these governance areas, striving to earn this distinguished recognition.
