Sanggunian to Local Chief: Inform Constituents on
ERC Public Hearing

     The Sangguniang Panlungsod yesterday, February 28th, passed Resolution No. 157, series of 2005, requesting the local Chief Executives of the cities of Bago, Talisay and Silay and the municipalities of Murcia and Don Salvador Benedicto to inform their constituents that the Energy Regulatory Commission will be conducting a public hearing on March 3, 2005 at 10AM at the CENECO.
     The SP has been in continued opposition to the application of the local electric cooperatives to add a tax recovery adjustment charge to the consumer's electric bill and has manifested their sentiments with a petition for the ERC to conduct a hearing in this at the offices of the local electric coop.
     The ERC has granted this request of the Bacolod SP and set a hearing in Bacolod in view of the fact that half of the applicant electric coops are situated in Western Visayas and so it defeats the rights of the consumers if the hearing were set in Cebu. (CMO-PIO)
