City to Pray for Tsunami Victims

In a memorandum issued to all City Government Offices, Mayor Evelio Leonardia announced that there will be a five minute period of silence tomorrow December 29, 2004 for prayer for the victims of the tsunamis that hit the Southeast Asian countries of Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Myanmar, India and the Maldives.
The five minutes will be from 3:00 o'clock to 3:05 in the afternoon. All offices and departments of the City Government will pause from work and offer five minutes in solidarity and brotherhood with the more than 23,000 persons who died in the disaster.
Assigned prayer leaders will lead their respective offices and departments in prayer during that period specifically for the souls of the victims as well as for spiritual strength and fortitude of those who survived and their families. (CMO-PIO)
