City Nets P0.7-M Tax Drive

In order to augment the City's income, the city government is continuously intensifying its revenue enhancement efforts with a massive campaign on business permits, which started in August this year.
The City's Permits and Licensing Division, headed by Ardis Jaculina, has fielded seven inspection teams, which have been making rounds all over the city to check on establishments and other businesses that were remiss in securing their business permits, and payment of quarterly sales tax.
Jaculina reported that as a result of their campaign, the City has collected P696,889.00 from late applications and payments for Business Permits Regulatory Fees and late payment of the quarterly Sales Tax.
The amount only covers businesses located within the Urban Center. The city government is expected to increase its collection as it continues with its campaign in other areas of the City. *(CMO-PIO/jmi)
