Only three months into its term, the administration of Mayor Evelio
Leonardia has already notched up a significant increase in the number of
implemented infrastructure projects.
In a recent report submitted by City Engineer
Loreto Dilag, a total of P48M worth of projects have been implemented as
of September this year.
The amount also covered appropriations for public
works such as electrification, roads and drainage improvement, and
improvement in government facilities such as schools, offices, barangay
gyms, public markets, and the like.
And to prove that the administration is serious
in its thrust to rebuild Bacolod City, efforts of providing more and
better infrastructure facilities are presently stepped up.
The City Engineer’s Office is set to implement
barangay-based infrastructure projects that have been endorsed by the
Public Affairs and Assistance Division (PAAD).
In a report submitted by the PAAD, through the
office of Executive Assistant Butch Soliguen, the projects requested by
the barangays included installation of close to 30 artesian wells,
construction or rehabilitation of roads and footwalks, construction of
waiting sheds, and rehabilitation of drainage systems. *(CMO-PIO/jmi)
